Clive was born on the second of june 1937 in the village of gorseinon in Swansea ,south wales,to gladys and henry john Lindsey of penlleghaer.He was one of eight children,the only boy among seven sisters,joy,jean,Maureen,Yvonne,Sandra,celia and veronica.He grew up in the small village of penlleghaer and attended penlleghaer school prior to commencing an apprenticeship as a blacksmith.Later he worked for ten years as an underground fitter in the mines and later in Swansea foundry.He started a new career in the aluminium company of America known as alcoa,where he remained until his retirement in 1993. Clive had an only son from a previous marriage who became a doctor and sadly died of cancer at the age of 35.Clive and gwen met in 1980 and married 5 years later and he became stepdad to lisa and james,and then bampi to his three beautiful grandchildren Rachel,Ellie and George.He was a very hardworking and industrious man and in 1985 built a bungalow that became the family home for the next 18 years until clive and gwen moved to spain in 2003. One of clives passions was his love of the martial arts,and oriental culture.He practised karate for many years and later in life took up tai chi.He studied many books on chinese healing and the history of china and japan. Clive was a quiet,unassuming,gentle and remarkable man and loved by all who had the privelage of knowing him and will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
